BG Racing – Update 01-10-22

I got back from holiday on Monday afternoon and this week has been spent trying to catch up with the task list which grew while I was away.  Progress was slowed as so much was going on with both horses, but that is always good!

Below I have covered:

1 – Dynamic Kate
2 – Far Too Beautiful
3 – Inside The Rails
4 – Runners From Our Stables

If this update gets you interested in ownership, then I would love to hear from you.  Click here for details of shareholder benefits and information on how to get involved.

Dynamic Kate

Dynamic Kate was entered in two races, a 0-105 this weekend and a 0-110 at Stratford on Monday.  She is working well and her form received a boost this week when the horse that finished 2nd behind her at Fontwell last time, won her next start.

After plenty of deliberation on Thursday morning, we decided not to declare Dynamic Kate at Fontwell.  The likely opposition looked very strong and with the race being over a longer distance, we decided to bypass this one.  This means that Kate will run at Stratford on Monday.

Shareholding renews from 1st November and presents a good opportunity to get into ownership with a horse that is in great form right now.  Please get in touch if you are interested to find out more!

Far Too Beautiful

All the news is very positive in respect of Far Too Beautiful.  After her initial jumping lessons over poles, Far Too Beautiful went over to a cross country eventing style jumps course for some more practice.  She jumped really well and seemed to really enjoy the experience.  Caolin Quinn (pronounced Keelan) a conditional rider from the Gary Moore yard came and rode her over hurdles earlier this week and she was very good again, as she was when she went back to hurdle again later in the week.

We have entered her in an apprentice race on the flat over 12 furlongs at Brighton on Tuesday.  There is a temptation to go straight to hurdles, but the jumps season gives us plenty of time for this whereas there are few opportunities for her on the flat.  It looks like she will get her ground on Tuesday and it is likely that we will run.  There is a jumps race the week after though that we could target if we did not run at Brighton.

It would be good to see if Far Too Beautiful shows better form back on soft ground on the flat.  She is back working well now and hopefully, the ground will prove to be the key to her.

It is great that she seems to enjoy hurdling and that so far she has been quick over her hurdles with no mishaps.  Obviously, we do not know how she will fare in a race over hurdles, but at least we know that this option is there and that it looks a promising one at the moment.

Inside The Rails

Our latest Inside The Rails podcast has launched.  That was another thing I had to get done this week!  The podcast is available on all platforms, just search for Inside The Rails and please tell your friends!

Runners From Our Stables

On 20th September, Midnight Shimmer was unplaced for Neil Mulholland and Ragamuffin looked to have bumped into a good one when he was 2nd in a three-runner race at Warwick.  Nordic Glory and Street Parade both finished midfield for Michael Attwater.  The next day, Lawn Ranger surprised Michael by placing at Goodwood, but Concierge, Dee’s Dream and Savoy Brown were all unplaced.

After no runners on Thursday, Friday saw Doncesar De Pretot and Ike Sport unplaced for Neil at Worcester.  Lord Accord finished 3rd in a small field later on the card, but Neil finished the day with a winner when Princess T won the last.  The only Saturday runners were Miss Shirley who was unplaced at Chelmsford for Michael and Dead Right was 2nd for Neil at Market Rasen.

Hidden Depths ran a good race at Ffos Las to finish 2nd for Neil on Sunday and Of Corse I Can was unplaced at Newton Abbot on Monday where Sevenofus made it four first-three finishes in a row with another third placing later on the card.

This week started with First Quest finishing 3rd at Sedgefield for Neil although in the same race, True Romance was unplaced.  Translink seems to either win or be well-beaten and it was the latter at Southwell where Jump Over The Moon was also unplaced.

Terrible news for Neil’s yard on Tuesday when Glendruid was pulled up early in the race yesterday and very sadly was fatally injured.  So sad for the owner and the guys at the yard.

Masterdream was not beaten very far at Salisbury for Neil yesterday, but he was unplaced.  At Warwick, Girlofmydreams did not jump as well as she can and despite being in front two out, she dropped out of the places on the run in.  Brief Times made a really pleasing reappearance, not beaten far in 2nd and you would fancy him to reverse those placings with this run under his belt if he met the winner again.  For Michael, Real Estate never really got in the mix at Chelmsford and should have a decent chance.  At Lingfield, Miss Shirley was unplaced and Lothian ran OK but was only able to finish 4th.
