Weekly Update 10-05-21
We entered Dynamic Kate to run at Worcester on Wednesday and she was declared this morning but was unfortunately too far down the list to get into the race. She will be entered today at Bangor on Saturday and we will try our luck there. I will have to look for further backup plans if that race is also oversubscribed and it looks like there is a risk that she will not get in again.
If you would like to get involved in what looks to be an exciting next few months, then shares are still available at £260 per 1% share covering all costs to 31st October 2021, with discounts for 5% and 10% purchases.
The good news with Far Too Beautiful is that the bang on her leg is not causing much concern and is improving. I went up to Michael’s last week and we took Far Too Beautiful over to use the proper stalls on Epsom Downs. This was a test for her to see how she would cope with new surroundings and unfortunately, she did not handle it well. I got to see how the guys work with her and I was really impressed with Steven (Michael’s travelling head lad) and Debbie (who was in the saddle), who were so patient and good with her, dishing out praise every time she did something right and keeping her calm and relaxed as possible. Despite their efforts and the fact that she did go in a couple of times, she was not happy and after a while, she began to get agitated and the guys decided to end the session. We made the decision to get some help from Witheford Equine who run the barrier trials at Lingfield and who are regarded throughout racing as the stalls experts. She is going today for the Witheford team to work with her. Steven is taking her over and will act as a rider for the day which will ensure she will be well looked after by someone that she knows.
If you want to get involved before she starts to race, then shares are £247 for a 1% shareholding covering all costs to 31st December 2021 and there are discounts for purchases of 5% and 10%.
All shareholders receive weekly updates, stable visits, owners badges when the horse runs and your share of prizemoney. You can contact me via the website contact page if you want any more information and I will be very happy to correspond by email or schedule a call.
On Monday, we had three runners and three places. For Neil, Vancouver was 3rd, beaten under two lengths at 25-1 and Green or Black finished 2nd beaten a length at 11-1. Michael ran Solar Park at Bath and he was 2nd beaten only a half-length. The following day, Rhubarb Bikini was unplaced for Michael and his other runner, Blue Cable, was 3rd. Neil’s runners, Heavey, Ballymilan and Ragamuffin were all unplaced.
Neil had a win double on Wednesday though. Rookie Trainer was a winner at Fontwell and whilst Soupy Soups was pulled up at Newton Abbot, back from over a year off, Sainte Doctor brought up a double on the day for the yard with an excellent win.
On Thursday, Neil’s Viking Ruby lost 3rd by a short-head in the final stride and on Friday, his runners, Translink and Fingerontheswitch were both unplaced. Michael’s runner, Lawn Ranger was unplaced at Chester on Friday, but Saturday saw another double of winners for Neil, Any News was not quite able to make the places at Haydock, but Excelerator Express was a nice winner later on the card and in the evening, his win was followed up by Sandymount Rose who won at Warwick. Libbdan and Frau Georgia were both unplaced at Warwick for Neil as was Swiss Flamingo at Lingfield for Michael. Dandolo Du Gite was second and Dream Machine was just outside the places at Plumpton on Sunday for Neil.
We launched a new episode of Inside The Rails featuring an interview with trainer Amy Murphy last week. Please give it a listen and maybe tell other people about it as well! All episodes can be accessed at the following link: https://podfollow.com/inside-the-rails.
