BG Racing – Update 05-07-22

A frustrating week with Far Too Beautiful having a niggle to overcome and Dynamic Kate being deprived of a run when four runners declared for another race in the last 45 seconds before it closed!  Hopefully, this week will go better and we can see some improvement in FTB and we can actually get Kate into a race!

Although we had no runner at Worcester, I still went racing, as the Neil Mulholland Racing Club had a runner and I help Neil with that, so I went up to take photos and video.

I am off to Lingfield Park tomorrow hosting a box of 210 people for them so I hope I can tip a couple of winners!

Below I have covered:
1 – Dynamic Kate
2 – Far Too Beautiful
3 – Inside The Rails
4 – Runners From Our Stables

If this update gets you interested in ownership, then I would love to hear from you.  Click here for details of shareholder benefits and information on how to get involved.

Dynamic Kate

Not my happiest Saturday morning as Dynamic Kate got balloted out at Worcester.  With 45 seconds to go until declarations for Monday closed, there were 15 declared in the national hunt flat race at Worcester which was first preference to divide if needed.  With a maximum field of 16 runners, it looked like they could all run there and our race would to divide into two ensuring all 24 declared (including Kate) could run.

A 16th declaration was made with 30 seconds until the cutoff and then three more were made in the last 30 seconds!  This meant that with 19 declared, that race was split rather than ours and our race was left with a maximum field size of 18 and Kate missed out as she was 20th on the list.

There is a race at Southwell on the 12th of July that looks suitable for here and another at Worcester on the 14th.  We will enter both in the hope of getting into one or the other.

I do have shares of Kate available to purchase and these run for the period to 31st October 2022.

Far Too Beautiful

Far Too Beautiful had an easy week after her last run the week before.  She is still not moving as freely as we would like though and she may have jarred herself a bit on the faster ground at Newmarket.  Our trainer, Michael Attwater, will take things very slowly with her and we will make sure she is back to 100% before we run her again.

I have shares available covering the period to 31st December 2022.  Please contact me via the contact page if you would like more information.

Inside The Rails

We launched the July episode of the Inside The Rails podcast last Friday.  It features an interview with the broadcaster and commentator, Mike Cattermole.  Mike commentates on racecourses and does some presenting for Sky Sports Racing.  Please search for Inside The Rails on Google, Apple, Spotify or Amazon podcasts (or anywhere else you listen to podcasts) and give us a listen.  Any recommendations of the podcast to anyone you know that might be interested would also be appreciated.

Runners From Our Stables

Last Tuesday, all three of Neil Mulholland’s runners ran pretty well without any of them winning.  Quarter Blue was 5th at Chepstow, Hidden Depths was 4th at Stratford and Cremant was 3rd at the same track.

There was plenty of action on Wednesday as well.  Neil had three unplaced runners, Ballymilan, Blumen Glory and Rookie Trainer.  He had one 3rd, Ike Sport, one 2nd, Ragamuffin and one winner, Masterdream who was last to run and ensured that Neil’s day ended in good style!  Big Time Maybe was 3rd for Michael Attwater the same day and his other runners, Street Parade and Beauen Arrows ran well but were unplaced.

Lothian ran OK but was unplaced for Michael at Newbury on Thursday and we had no runners from the stables on Friday.  Michael’s Gold Haze was well-beaten at Sandown on Saturday and Sunday was another “no runners” day before Doncesar De Pretot jumped well and ran a really nice race to finish 2nd for Neil on his chase debut at Worcester yesterday.  Putalinethroughit was Neil’s other runner and he gained some experience but he was unable to get competitive in the bumper.
