BG Racing – Update 15-07-24
Another busy week in the office, processing renewal information for Bella Cavalla and we also had a run from Stryder last Tuesday.
That one was a bit disappointing but we went from one extreme to the other in terms of the ground.
The ground may be an issue for Bella Cavalla running at Uttoxeter this week, but fingers crossed that they do not get too much rain and I have another race to report on next week.
I have been processing shareholder renewals for Bella Cavalla and the response was good enough that we will have Bella Cavalla for another twelve months.
Bella is declared to run on Wednesday although we are crossing everything that the ground does not get too soft at Uttoxeter.
Now is a great time to get involved as you will get the full year of ownership. A 2% share is £754 for the year from 1st July to 30th June 2025 and can be paid monthly. There are discounted rates for 5% and 10% shareholders as well, please contact me for details, I can still get you in as a shareholder before she runs!
Stryder was very disappointing at Brighton last Tuesday, but having run twice on very quick ground that he did not enjoy, he also did not perform on the soft ground that prevailed last week. Ideally, we will find him some proper good ground in future or run on the all-weather where the surface is predictable.
Stryder seems fine and if he is OK in the next couple of days then we will run at Wolverhampton next Tuesday. If he is a bit flat there then we can give him a couple of weeks off and bring him back at the end of August, but if he runs well there then we can crack on.
The race is a 5f 0-50 classified race and entries are confirmed on Wednesday.
My first episode as editor and producer of the Inside The Rails podcast features an interview with William Woodhams from Fitzdares bookmakers and he was a lot of fun with some strong opinions! It may not be as polished as the first 40-odd episodes as I am learning the tools, but it should get better with time. Listen to the podcast using the link below or by searching for Inside The Rails on any podcast app and please tell your friends about us!

Not many runners from our two stables this week.
Last Tuesday, Light Fandango made a great start to his career at Neil Mulholland’s though with a comfortable win at Uttoxeter and hopefully he can continue to progress.
There was another winner for Neil yesterday when Inspector Lynley ran really well at Stratford battling all the way up the home straight to see off a challenging rival and record a good win for the members of Neil’s racing club.
If you are interested in finding out more about racehorse ownership, then please get in touch as I would be delighted to discuss things with you.
Standing order payments can be made to spread the cost of share purchases and shareholders get regular email updates along with the chance to come to the stables with me as well as to the races. There are also shareholder social events during the year.
