BG Racing – Update 20-04-22

It has been a manic couple of weeks since I last produced an update, with the Aintree Grand National meeting, two days in the Cotswolds for Cheltenham, a visit to Neil Mulholland’s yard and two to Michael Attwater’s and an ownership day at Newbury races!

Below I have covered:
1 – Dynamic Kate
2 – Far Too Beautiful
3 – Stable Visits
4 – Inside The Rails
5 – Runners From Our Stables

If this update gets you interested in ownership, then I would love to hear from you.  Click here for details of shareholder benefits and information on how to get involved.

Dynamic Kate

I called in at Neil’s “on the way” back from Cheltenham on Good Friday, but a puncture on the way caused a delay in my travel plans and not much time at the yard.

Neil did kindly hold Dynamic Kate back until I got there at lunchtime so I could see her canter.

Kate is in good order and looking really well.  Neil is very happy with her progress, but she still needs more work before she will be ready to run.  He suggested that the middle of next month would be a realistic target for her reappearance.

I do have shares of Kate available to purchase and these run for the period to 31st October 2022.  They are priced at £310 for a 1% share with discounted rates for 5% and 10% purchases.

She has been in the first four in all four of her recent races and she will hopefully pick up where she left off when she gets back on the racecourse in the coming weeks.

Far Too Beautiful

I went up to the yard at Epsom on Friday the 8th and I was there again this week.

FTB is fine and she is ready to run.  Unfortunately, her planned run at Bath last week would have come just too soon after her recent cough and the race we picked out at Salisbury this week has been ruled out as the ground is too firm.  There is an option at Brighton on the turf next Wednesday (27th) and if that is too fast we might look to give her a spin on the all-weather at Lingfield instead.

I have shares available at a cost of £273 per 1% share covering the period to 31st December 2022.  Please contact me via the contact page if you would like more information.

Stable Visits

Stable visits are a big part of the shared ownership experience and I send around videos and photos to shareholders every time I am at one of the yards.

I have had several shareholders with me at the yards in recent weeks and shared ownership can deliver so much more than just visits to the races.

Inside The Rails

The latest episode of Inside The Rails hosted by yours truly contained an interview with young jockey, Cieren Fallon, who is riding as the first jockey to Qatar Racing in Oisin Murphy’s absence this summer.  This episode and all previous episodes can be downloaded at https://podfollow.com/inside-the-rails.  Please give us a listen and recommend the podcast to anyone you know that might be interested!

Runners From Our Stables

Michael Attwater had a winner on Monday 4th April when Mary of Modena was a nice winner for the yard.  He had two others in the race, with Battle Point unsuited by the ground and just out of the places and Ard Up not favoured by the draw and finishing unplaced.  After no runners the next day, Michael had Big Time Maybe at Lingfield on Weds 6th, but he did not make the turn into the straight too well and was unable to pick up in the last furlong finishing unplaced.

On Thursday 7th, Girlofmydreams was unplaced at Aintree for Neil Mulholland as was Rookie Trainer at Ffos Las and Full Aux Rois at Taunton.  Full of Surprises delivered Neil’s best result of the day when he was 2nd at Taunton.  Things did not improve on the Friday of Aintree when Solwara One was pulled up early in his race.  Exelerator Express ran well on National Day at Aintree finishing just out of the places and he will be one to watch next time.  At Newcastle, Neil’s other runner, Brief Times, looked a likely winner for a while but the leader rallied and he was only able to finish 2nd.

On Sunday 10th, Carolines Charm was third for Neil and Norman Kindhu was unplaced but ran well to be 4th and the next day, Real Estate was unplaced at Windsor for Michael.  There were no runners on the 12th and on the 13th, Mongol Emperor and Icone Daubrelle were unplaced for Neil at Cheltenham, but both ran well and showed some promise for the future.  Neil’s third runner, First Quest, just missed the places later in the day at Kempton.

No joy last Thursday as both Neil’s Bath runners, Marions Star and Princess T were well beaten.  For Michael, Tadreeb was unable to mount a challenge and was also unplaced.  No runners on Friday and on Saturday, Peltwell was unplaced for Neil up at Haydock and Molly Carew also failed to make the frame.  Ragamuffin was Neil’s best result of the day finishing 3rd at Newton Abbot which was a good run after a break.  Cappananty Con was unable to land a blow for Michael at Lingfield and was unplaced.  There were no runners from our yards yesterday.
