BG Racing – Update 22-03-23
Back from Cheltenham and just beginning to catch up. I am going to pop down to Neil Mulholland’s yard tomorrow morning and I am planning to go to Michael Attwater’s next Wednesday. There ia also a chance that Sajwaan will run again next Friday.
Dynamic Kate is working away at Neil’s. Neil is expecting her to be ready to race in April.
Our trip to Wolverhampton did not go as well as we hoped after Sajwaan had to see off four separate challenges for the lead and had to go flat out for the first two-thirds of the race meaning he had nothing left at the end and ended up fifth, losing all four places in the last furlong.
Getting a lot of battling for the lead is always a danger for a front-runner and normally William would have been happy to sit just off the pace, but the reason he was challenged here was because horses wanted to get to the inside rail and that would have shuffled him back behind several runners and was therefore not an option on this occasion.
Getting beaten here did open up the possibility that Sajwaan might be dropped 2 lbs and this would have got him into a valuable race at Bath on Good Friday. Unfortunately, he was only dropped 1lb though and is unlikely to get into that race, so the best option is likely to be a six-furlong race at Lingfield next Friday (31st March). There are some five-furlong options later in April that we will look at, but there is nothing suitable in the next 2-3 weeks.
The 1% share price is £325 for 1% covering to the end of December 2023. Costs include the share purchase (with rights to the same share of any future sale) along with all training fees to the end of 2023. Installment payments are fine and there are discounts for 5% & 10% purchases.

Her injury has settled down and she is really well. She has recently been “covered” and we hope to get good news of her being in foal in the near future.
I hope that you all enjoyed the Cheltenham Festival last week. I was down for the whole week and met with several BG Racing shareholders. We also tan a tipping competition which was enjoyed by everyone.
The March episode of Inside The Rails contained a Cheltenham preview and an interview with jumps trainer, David Pipe. Yesterday, we recorded our April episode which launches on the 1st April.
We interviewed Laurie and Philip Brannan for this one. Laurie was the first ever racecourse announcer back in the 1960s and his son Philip is still doing the same job today. They had some brilliant stories to tell, so look out for it when it is released!
Conkwell Legend was the star of the show for Neil Mulholland last Monday. Aside from a first hurdle unseat last time out, he had been off for about two years, but he shrugged that off with a performance similar to his best previous form to record a really nice win at Plumpton.
We had another winner this Monday when at Taunton, Ike Sport won the opener. Another winner for Neil and the horses look in decent form at the moment.
